What Is a Small Group?
At Good Samaritan we have three different kinds of small groups:
Growth/ Discipleship: Deepen your knowledge of the
word of God, through Bible and book study. A small group is
a great place to learn and grow spiritually through faith
based education. The small group setting provides a forum,
where you can ask questions, participate in discussions, and
hear others share insights and illustrations of the truth
you are trying to grasp.
Service/ Task Ministry: Serving together can help
your small group build a deeper sense of community and friendship.
Serving together expands the vision of your group and gets
group members "outside themselves." Service can
include anything that your group does for the betterment of
the church or local/global community.
Fellowship/Support: A small group provides people
a chance to share what's really going on in their lives and
to hear what's going on in other group members lives. Spending
time relaxing, having fun or in conversation, is a great way
to get to build friendly relationships with the others in
your small group. Authentic community involves sharing life
together and connecting on many levels with the people in
our group.
Why Should I Join a Small Group?
At Good Samaritan we are a church of people who love to get
involved. We are learning more about God's word and what it
says for our lives today through Growth/Discipleship groups,
helping our Church and community with our Service/Task groups,
or learning more about each other and sharing God's love in
our Fellowship/Support groups. God does not want us to go
through life alone, or feel lost in the crowd on Sunday morning.
He wants us to experience the joy of being together as a church
family.
Just as our mission statement says:
Transforming Lives and empowering people
through Christ's Love.
We grow spiritually, educationally and emotionally through
small groups. You can "transform" your life by
jumping in and getting involved.
How Do I Join a Small Group?
Many people have discovered what a great experience it is
to learn about what God's Word says for our lives today, and
to get connected with a small group of people who really care
about you. We would love for you to join us!
You are invited and always welcome to join one of our many
small groups meeting at our church and in homes throughout
our community. Give one a try for a few weeks and see what
you think. No strings attached. You'll be glad you did!
